We're on a mission to be the most beautiful and honest representation of Black women in the history of modern print. To that end, we're working with the best writers in the world to tell OUR story. If you're an exceptional writer with style and a point of view, we want to hear from you!

Guidelines
Process
We are currently accepting pitches (200-250 words) for our digital platform in the following categories:
Watch: Film, TV, Internet
Listen: Podcasts, Music, Playlists
Art: Exhibits, Museums, Interviews
Business: Roundups, Features, Advice
Beauty: Product Reviews, Beauty News, Roundups, How-Tos, Photo Essays
Hair: How-Tos, Roundups, Product News, Photo Essays
Style: Street Style, Fashion Editorials
Travel: City Guides, Photo Essays
Books: Book Reviews, Roundups, Author Features/Interviews
Food: Recipes, Restaurant Reviews
Thought: “Hot Takes,” Personal Essays, Op-Eds
Family: Marriage, Relationships, Sex, Babies
Health: Wellness, Fitness, Spirituality
Select one Article Topic and one Article Format per pitch.
You can submit as many pitches as you’d like, by making one entry per pitch. Simply fill out your contact information, select the appropriate Article Topic and Article Format from the respective drop down menus, write your pitch and submit! Our editorial team will review all pitches and be in touch if we’d like to move forward with any of the concepts submitted.
Brand Pillars
All written submissions should speak to our Brand Pillars:
Knowledge of Self: Truth is the point of origin for growth. Knowing who you are and from whence you came will help you decide where to go and how you must evolve to get there.
Self-Love: Acceptance. Respect — care for self.
Authenticity: True beauty doesn’t lie. There is nothing more attractive than a woman who is true to herself.
Sisterhood: There is enough for everybody and the fruit is easier to harvest when we work together. Sisterhood is built by honoring the diversity of Black women.
Ownership: Creating wealth in our community is only possible if we own our narrative and employ cooperative economics.
Housekeeping
Due to overwhelming interest, we are unable to respond individually to each submission. If we are interested in further developing your piece, our editorial team will be in touch with a submission deadline, word count and additional direction for the final piece.
In the event that we reach out to develop a piece, it may or may not end up being a fit for our platform. Our editorial team reserves the final say in regards to publishing any content on crwnmag.com or in CRWNMAG.
If you’re a visual creator (photographer, artist, etc.) looking to contribute, please submit your work HERE.
We offer paid writing opportunities for the print editions of our Magazine and Journal. We use our digital platform to build our community of writers and to discover new writers for the magazine. All digital contributions are currently unpaid.
