CRWN On The Move: The Black Owned Marketplace

CRWN On The Move: The Black Owned Marketplace

Black business matters, and Black dollars matter. They are the difference between economic advancement or remaining economically crippled. Today, Black consumers have over $1.1 trillion dollars of spending power in the United States — that's a lot of power. Power that can be invested into the growth of our community. But where does that money go? The majority goes to major corporations and conglomerates; businesses whose priorities do not align with the Black community.

That's why Michelle Dalzon created The Black Owned Marketplace, also known as theBOM. theBOM's mission is to connect Black people with Black businesses in the marketplace. This past Sunday, CRWN joined theBOM for a bomb pop-up shopping experience. Some of the vendors included, skinBUTTR, Lorraine West Jewelry, LIT BKLYN, The Brown Crayon Project, TracyChambers Vintage and more. This wasn't an ordinary pop-up, this was a personalized pop-up. From the ambient space, to meeting the founders of Black businesses, this was not your trip to your local mall. We deserve a great shopping experience crafted for us, and it has officially arrived.

Here is a slice of the fun from Sunday. We hope that you will support theBOM's mission and support their next pop-up.

Oh yeah, while you are supporting Black business, don't forget about CRWN. Click here to grab your issue of CRWN.
