A month ago, we tweeted about the Black beauty industry and the fact that, despite spending the largest amount of revenue, the Black community has the smallest ownership in the business. Since learning those statistics, the CRWN team has been making conscious efforts to support Black-owned beauty supplies and businesses in every market. 

Now, it is easier than ever to expand Black wealth by supporting Black-owned businesses, with the Where You Came From app! Where You Came From, or WhereU for short, is a local business search app with a real-time leaderboard of black owned businesses across categories, ranked by peer-to-peer referral counts. An internet connection isn't even necessary! The app is available for both iOS and Android devices, allowing you to circulate money within the community the next time you need a plumber or piece of jewelry.
