BASE BUTTER is Glowing up for a Re-Launch

She’Neil Johnson, 25, is redefining the skincare landscape for women of color with her line of all natural skincare products, BASE BUTTER. After graduating from Howard University in 2014, Johnson headed to New York to start her career as a UX Designer for IBM. In the midst of enhancing the user’s experience for products in her role as a designer, Johnson felt the need for her own creative outlet and began making all-natural lipsticks in her kitchen.

The creative outlet soon turned into She’Neil’s first business venture with Lipzology lipstick, leading her to file her first legal entity. However, Johnson lost interest due to not wearing much make-up and decided to transition out of making lipsticks. Left with a kitchen full of natural products and inventory, Johnson began exploring and experimenting with creating body butters. Shortly after, BASE BUTTER was born.

Founded in 2015, BASE BUTTER strives to inspire women of color to discover, protect, and love the beauty they were born with. After the line’s first launch in December 2015, popularity for the product quickly grew. BASE BUTTER’s products are multipurpose allowing for usage on the lips face, hair, and body as a moisturizer. Their most popular product “The Whipped Formula” is a SPF 20 lightweight moisturizing butter.

Currently, BASE BUTTER is going through a transition phase called “The Glow Up 2017” as it prepares for its August relaunch. The all natural skincare product line will be kicking off with a private event and will be introducing a new BASE BUTTER product called Shine, a sheen stick for your skin and lips.

You can stay up to date with the launch and become a BASE BUTTER member by visiting basebutter.com and on their social handles for Twitter and Instagram: @BASEBUTTER.
