Need Some Black Girl Magic in your Summer Reading List?
Every summer, you probably make an attempt to read some of the classics. You might have To Kill a Mockingbird, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, and more of the classics on your list. But, these classics oftentimes lack the voices of Black women. But don’t fret, because we have a solution for you. The Lemonade Syllabus.
The Lemonade Syllabus is a collection of works, novels, non-fiction, and more, created by Black women. This syllabus was put together by Candice Benbow, a PhD student at Princeton Theological Seminary, and others in academia after Beyonce dropped her 6th album “Lemonade”. From science fiction writer Octavia Butler to Black feminist writer Patricia Hill Collins, the Lemonade Syllabus will give you everything you need to feel some Black Girl Magic with your summer reading.
